Itinerary

On arrival at Delhi our representatives will escort you to the hotel and you can check in there. The day is for you to relax, get refreshed and if you want you can even go out and explore the capital city of the country on your own. There is an overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.

The second day begins with a breakfast at the hotel and then starts this Golden Triangle Trip with a tour of the city. This tour will include a visit to the monuments and places of both Old and New Delhi. One can witness the stark difference between the Old and the New Delhi but the guests will also get to see how the traditional Delhi has mingled with the contemporary Delhi. The visits in Delhi will be at the Raj Ghat (the memorial place of Mahatma Gandhi), the Red Fort and Jama Masjid to New Delhi which hold another old yet impressive Qutub Minar. It is still the world’s tallest brick minaret and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trip continues with a drive along the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the India Gate, and the Diplomatic enclave. The Delhi city tour ends with a visit to the Lotus Temple, Laxmi Narayan temple and the Akshardham Temple. In the evening the guests will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After a leisurely breakfast at hotel we start for the next town Agra. The town that has become synonymous with Taj Mahal, the pristine white marbled tomb that is a remembrance of love that Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan had for his second wife Mumtaz Mahal. From there a visit to Agra Fort on the banks of River Yamuna is another architectural masterpiece of the Mughal era. The construction of Agra Fort was started in 1566 by Emperor Akbar and the red-sandstone fort has many legends and stories. From one side of the fort the Taj Mahal can be seen. After the visit one can engage in some shopping and leisurely roaming before returning to the hotel at Agra for a night stay.

After the breakfast the trip continues for Jaipur, but before reaching the capital of Rajasthan we take an en-route to Fatehpur Sikri. Emperor Akbar shifted his capital to this place once but due to the problem of water supple he had to reinstate the capital back at Delhi. The place is also known as the “ghost town” and boasts the huge Buland Darwaza along with quite a few palaces like the Jodha Bai Palace and Birbal Palace. After reaching Jaipur the guests are taken to the hotel for a night stay at Jaipur.

The day begins with a leisurely lunch then an elephant back ride to the top of the Amber Fort. The Fort is a majestic one with a backdrop of wooded hills, from there we move to the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal (the Palace of winds), it is a five storied building made in the shape of honeycomb, and from there the ladies could sneak to view the outside world. The Palace is at the centre of the Pink City. The visit to the Jantar Mantar, one of the best kept five observatories made by Sawai Jai Singh II is a perfect example of the blending of the past, present and future. In the evening the guests are free to explore the Jaipur market and engage in some authentic Rajasthani folk culture and cuisine and then retire to the hotel for an overnight stay.

After having breakfast the guests will be taken to Delhi, from Delhi board a train for Amritsar. On reaching Amritsar they will be taken to the hotel in the town for night stay.

The seventh day is an early morning start as the guests will be taken to the Golden Temple, the most sacred place for the Sikhs. However, people of Hindu belief too visit the temple and offer their prayer. The temple came to be known as Golden Temple after Maharaj Ranjit Singh turned the upper floors of the gurdwara with gold after securing the region of Punjab from outside attack. The trip continues to Jallianwala Bagh, the place where people attending a peaceful meeting for the freedom movement were shot mercilessly on April 13, 1919 under the order of British General Dyer. The evening ends with a visit to the Wagah Border and one can witness the Border Retreat Ceremony and it is a amazing sight to see the Pakistani land in a distance of few feet away. The guests will then be taken back to the hotel for a dinner and night stay.

Today guests will board Shatabdi Exp for Delhi. Thus Golden Triangle Trip with a visit to Amritsar comes to an end with the representatives taking the guests to board their train or flights for their individual destination.
